The second-hand shopping app has revised its size classifications for female and kids' apparel failing to inform every member regarding the update. Social Media Backlash Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification than originally posted due to the recalibration. The platform stated the new system was more in line with other platforms. It has advised users to check their listings and manually change the size when needed, resulting in member annoyance. Sizing System Changes Earlier, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Member Accounts One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. A different member, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Necessary Adjustments Another shopper, located in England, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she explained. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million members, with 18 million British users. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: previously, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
