It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and once went over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the record chasers, are the only things left for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

Ultimately, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to produce her newest gem.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this knock followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a frustrating experience because it seemed I lacked timing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit activate and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

A single came off the opening delivery and from there Healy was on her way.

"An opportunity to take the field and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was removed Australia needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the belief to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if we do, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing competing nations at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this triumph following success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at an important competition.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing despite the injury.
